Since 1928 Conyers Dill & Pearman has earned the trust, loyalty and respect of our clients by consistently providing responsive, timely and thorough offshore law advice.
By virtue of having an established and respected presence, in locations that are convenient for our clients, Conyers Dill & Pearman has
become renowned for responsive, timely and thorough dispassionate advice and has
garnered a reputation as being the offshore law firm of choice.
From the early beginnings, in 1928, Conyers Dill
& Pearman has maintained a wide-ranging and vigorous law practice which has
significantly expanded. Since 1935, the Firm's international practice has been
at the forefront of developments in Trust and corporate planning. The Firm's
shipping practice, founded in 1956, is widely recognised in international
circles. In the early 1960's the Firm was a major player in the development of
international insurance and helped establish Bermuda as the widely
respected insurance and reinsurance capital it is acknowledged as
today.
Originally established in Bermuda, Conyers Dill & Pearman pioneered the concept of
multi-jurisdictional offshore law. In 1982, Conyers Dill & Pearman became
the first offshore law firm to venture outside the home
jurisdiction; setting up an office in Guernsey. This was followed in 1985 with
the establishment of the Hong Kong office – another first for an
offshore firm.
In the mid 1990’s, Conyers Dill & Pearman became the first
law firm to provide multi-jurisdictional advice on the corporate laws of
Bermuda, British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands. And, in 2001, Conyers Dill
& Pearman became the only law firm
to offer legal advice in each of the jurisdictions of Bermuda, British Virgin
Islands, Cayman Islands and Anguilla. In 2008, the firm opened the Moscow
office. Once again, Conyers Dill & Pearman became the
first magic
circle offshore firm to have a physical presence in
Eastern Europe. Not content with that, in July 2008,
the firm also established a presence in Mauritius. To complement the aforementioned,
the firm also has offices in Dubai (2006), London (1998), São Paulo
(2009) and Singapore (2001).
